Haiku for You (Rhyme)

I told my friend Pawley I would create a recovery haiku for my next blog.

Pawley is the former host of “The Maxwell Show” on WMMS in Cleveland. He currently works at Glenbeigh, as well as hosts two podcasts called "MF20" and “Recovery Cast.”

I was recently a guest on Recovery Cast. You can check it out here:

But back to the haiku.

I couldn’t decide on just one, so I am posting several.

Though these are me being somewhat facetious, there is something to be said for the role played by creative expression in both recovery from addiction and in mental health wellness.

Literature.

Artwork.

Writing.

Music.

And yes, even poetry.

These are all forms of creative expression that can add to recovery, health, and wellness by providing different ways to share feelings, thoughts, and experiences.

You can check out my artwork and find free art therapy projects (COMING SOON!) by clicking here https://carriemosko.com/1046-2/

Ok. Without further ado, I give you my recovery haikus.

Recovery Haikus, by Carrie Mosko

1.

I know where I am

Waking up tomorrow ‘morn

Do you? I wonder.

2.

It’s a lot cooler

To laugh at things when sober

Because I get them

3.

I put my cup down.

And raised my hands up to you

You high-fived me. Boom.

Recovery haikus.

I kept my word.

Done and done. And, done (3 times).

Ok then.

Out.
